to the Nile Cruise ship. Boarding and enjoy lunch on board the ship.
After lunch visit the High Dam and the Temple of Philae dedicated to
the goddess Isis. Also visit the ancient granite quarry where the famous
pink granite comes from that you see in so many Egyptian monuments,
and see the Unfinished Obelisk. This obelisk was only partially cut
from the surrounding stone when it developed a crack, making it useless
for its intended purpose. It gives us insight into how these large single
pieces of stone were cut from the surrounding rock. Return to the ship
for dinner and overnight on board. (B/L/D)
Day 04: The ship will sail
to Kom Ombo in the morning while you enjoy breakfast on board. Once

by the two Gods Sobek and Haroeris. Sobek is depicted as a crocodile
and you will find his image everywhere, as well as other signs of worship
to this god. Return to the ship and sail on to Edfu to visit the temple
there. The large well preserved temple complex was built between 237
BCE to 57 BCE, into the reign of Cleopatra VII. Built from sandstone
blocks, the huge Ptolemaic temple was constructed over the site of a
smaller New Kingdom temple, oriented east to west, facing towards the
river. After your visit return to the ship. Enjoy afternoon tea and
dinner on board while sailing to Esna, and on to Luxor for overnight.
(B/L/D)

II, and more are located here. See the differing types of construction
of the burial chambers located in this cut in the mountains. Afterwards
visit Queen Hatshepsut's Temple at El-Deir El-Bahari. At Queen Hatshepsut's
Temple, you will see the reconstructed temple of this fascinating ruler
of Egypt. Her story is full of political intrigue and rivalry, a power
struggle, murder, and more! Head back to the ship, stopping to see the
Colossi of Memnon at the ruins of the tomb of Amenhotep III. Return
to the ship for lunch. Afternoon tea and dinner on board and overnight
moored in Luxor. (B/L/D)

was constructed over several hundred years. You will see the many efforts
of successive rulers to put their individual mark on the temple, and
efforts to remove the presence of others. After exploring this magnificent
