8 Day Highlights of Israel Tour
Departs Every Sunday

Sunday Upon your arrival at Ben Gurion airport you will be met and assisted and transferred to your hotel in Tel-Aviv for overnight.

Monday - Tel Aviv - Beersheva - Arad - Massada - Jerusalem Leave Tel Aviv via Ashdod - Ashkelon - Beersheva. Enjoy a short visit to the Negev capital. Continue on via Arad to Massada where you will ascend to the fortress which was the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their war against the Romans. Visit the excavations, Herod's palaces, the synagogue, bath house, etc., overlooking the Roman camps and the Dead Sea. Proceed to Jerusalem for overnight.

Tuesday - Jerusalem Sightseeing of the New City - Drive to Mt. Scopus for a view of Jerusalem, then continue to the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of Agony. Continue on to Mt. Zion for a visit to the tomb of King David, the Room of the Last Supper and Dormition Abbey. Enjoy more sightseeing in the New City including the Israel Museum's Shrine of the Book with its famous Dead Sea Scrolls, the Knesset building (Parliament), the Hebrew University campus, Mt. Hertzel and Yad Vashem (the Holocaust Memorial). Then visit the model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem dating back to the time of the Second Temple. Continue to Hadassah Medical Center for a short visit to the Synagogue with Marc Chagall stained-glass windows. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Wednesday- Jerusalem Old City - Bethlehem* Walk through the Jaffa Gate into the Old City of Jerusalem to visit the renewed Jewish Quarter, the Western Wall, the Temple area, the colorful bazaars, the Via Dolorosa and the Church of the Holly Sepulcher. Continue to Bethlehem to visit Rachel's Tomb and the Church of the Nativity. Return to Jerusalem for overnight

Thursday - Beit Shean - Tiberias - Galilee Leave Jerusalem, and drive north via Jericho*, the oldest city in the world. Then via the Jordan Valley and the new settlements to Beit Shean. Visit the excavations of this beautiful Roman City. Proceed to Tiberias, the old center of Jewish learning. Drive along the shores of the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum to visit the ruins of the ancient synagogue. Continue to a Kibbutz hotel for overnight.

Friday - Upper Galilee - Golan Heights - Nazareth Drive to the Golan Heights. Visit the former Syrian fortifications, Birket Ram, the Druze villages, via Banias source of the Jordan River. Proceed via Kiriat Shmona and the Hula Valley to Safed, city of the Kabbalah, to visit the old Synagogue and artist's colony and then to Nazareth to visit the Church of the Annunciation and St Joseph's Church. Return to a kibbutz hotel for overnight.

Saturday - Acre - Haifa - Tel Aviv Leave the kibbutz hotel for Acre to visit the old, famous Crusader stronghold and medieval fortifications. Continue on to Haifa for a tour including Bachai Shrine, Persian Garden and Mt. Carmel for a panoramic view of the city. Proceed southwards to Ceasarea to visit the Roman theater and the Crusaders fortress. Drive via Netanya to Tel Aviv. Short city tour of Tel Aviv-Jaffa and on to the hotel for overnight.

Sunday - After breakfast transfer to your next destination or to Ben Gurion airport for your flight.
