Highlights of Israel
Departures Every Sunday

Day 1 - Arrival at Ben Gurion airport and transfer to your hotel in Tel-Aviv for overnight.

Day 2 - Tel Aviv - Beersheva - Arad - Massada - Jerusalem - Leave Tel Aviv via Ashdod - Ashkelon - Beersheva. A short visit to the Negev capital. Continue via Arad to Massada. Ascend the fortress which was the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their war against the Romans. Visit the excavations, Herod's palaces, the synagogue, bath house, etc., overlooking the Roman camps and the Dead Sea. Proceed to Jerusalem for overnight

Day 3 - Jerusalem - Sightseeing of the New City - Drive to Mt. Scopus for a view of Jerusalem. Then to the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of Agony. Continue to Mt. Zion for a visit to the tomb of King David, the Room of the Last Supper and Dormition Abbey. Sightseeing the New City including the Israel Museum's Shrine of the Book with its famous Dead Sea Scrolls, the Knesset building (Parliament), the Hebrew University campus, Mt. Hertzel and Yad Vashem (the memorial to the six millions Jews who were killed in the Holocaust). Then visit the model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem dating back to the time of the Second Temple. Continue to Hadassah Medical Center for a short visit to the Synagogue with Marc Chagall stained-glass windows. Overnight in Jerusalem

Day 4- Jerusalem Old City - Bethlehem - Walk through Jaffa Gate into the Old City, the renewed Jewish Quarter, the Western Wall, the Temple area, the colorful bazaars, the Via Dolorosa and the Church of the Holly Sepulchre. Continue to Bethlehem to visit Rachel's Tomb and the Church of the Nativity. Return to Jerusalem for overnight

Day 5 - Jericho - Tiberias - Galilee - Leave Jerusalem, driving via Bethany to Jericho, the oldest city in the world. Visit the excavations and continue northward via Jordan River to Beit Shean. After a short visit proceed to Tiberias, the old center of Jewish learning. Drive along the shores of the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum to visit the ruins of the ancient Synagogue. Continue to a kibbutz hotel for overnight

Day 6 - Upper Galilee - Golan Heights - Nazareth - Drive to the Golan Heights. Visit the former Syrian fortifications, Birket Ram, the Druze villa ges, via Banias source of the Jordan River. Proceed via Kiriat Shmona and the Hula Valley to Safed, city of the Kabbalah, to visit the old Synagogue and artist's colony and the to Nazareth to visit the Church of the Annunciation and St Joseph's Church. Return to a kibbutz hotel for overnight.

Day 7 - Acre - Haifa - Tel Aviv - Leave the kibbutz hotel for Acre to visit the old, famous Crusader stronghold and medieval fortifications. Continue to Haifa, sightseeing tour of Haifa, including Bachai Shrine, Persian Garden and Mt. Carmel for a panoramic view of the city. Proceed southwards to Ceasarea to visit the Roman theater and the Crusaders fortress. Drive via Netanya to Tel Aviv. Short city tour of Tel Aviv-Jaffa and on to hotel for overnight.

Day 8 - After breakfast transfer to your next destination or to Ben Gurion airport for your flight.
