We often get calls after someone has booked their tickets as to how much luggage they can take with them before they have to pay fees. Below is a list of the airlines we book most often and their allowances:
1 piece, 50 lbs (overweight fees will be charged over 50 lbs) and a carry on bag:
- BA – British Airways
- DL – Delta
- QATAR
- LH – Lufthansa
2 pieces at 50 lbs each (overweight fees will be charged over 50 lbs on each bag) and one carry on bag:
- AF – Air France
- EK – Emirates Air
- KLM
- TK – Turkish Airlines
- RJ – Royal Jordanian
Keep in mind that airlines are becoming more and more strict about baggage, and while you might think that an extra few pounds is not a big deal, you can pay quite a lot for it at check in. Also, don’t overload your carry on bag as they have started cracking down on the weight and size of carry-ons. You could end up being asked to check that as well, and pay any additional fees, getting your travels off to a less than enjoyable start.
If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact us, but this should be a good guideline to get started.
