Arrival in Cairo

Welcome to Egypt, the legendary Land of the Pharaohs. Upon arrival in Cairo—a city where ancient wonders seamlessly blend with modern life—you will be warmly greeted and assisted by our airport representative. Settle into your private air‑conditioned vehicle for the drive to your 5‑star accommodations at the Four Seasons First Residence or a similar luxury property, where your Nile‑view room offers a stunning introduction to Egypt’s majestic river. Check in and enjoy your first evening at leisure in Cairo.

Day 2 - Tuesday

Cairo

Giza Pyramids, Sphinx & Grand Egyptian Museum

After breakfast, meet your Egyptologist guide for a full day of exploration. Your journey begins at the iconic Giza Plateau, home to Egypt’s most celebrated monuments. Stand before the Great Pyramid of Khufu—the only surviving Wonder of the Ancient World—alongside the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure. Nearby, the Great Sphinx, carved from a single limestone outcrop, has kept silent watch over the plateau for more than 4,500 years.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to the Grand Egyptian Museum, the newest and largest archaeological museum complex in the world. This cutting‑edge facility houses thousands of artifacts spanning Egypt’s pharaonic history, including the complete treasures of Tutankhamun displayed as never before. Return to your hotel for a free evening; dinner is on your own with recommendations available upon request. Overnight in Cairo. (B/L)

Day 3 - Wednesday

Cairo

Sakkara, Citadel of Salah El‑Din & Muhammad Ali Mosque

After breakfast, set out for Sakkara, the vast desert necropolis of ancient Memphis. Here you will visit the Step Pyramid of King Zoser, the world’s first major stone structure and the architectural precursor to all later pyramids. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue to the hilltop Citadel of Salah El‑Din, a formidable medieval fortress built in the 12th century to protect Cairo from Crusader attacks. Within its walls stands the splendid Mosque of Muhammad Ali, also known as the Alabaster Mosque, whose domes and ornate Ottoman interiors make it one of Cairo’s most beloved landmarks. Return to your hotel for overnight. (B/L)

Day 4 - Thursday

Cairo - Aswan

Cairo → Aswan → Abu Simbel → Aswan

Enjoy an early breakfast before transferring to the airport for your flight to Aswan and onward to Abu Simbel. Upon arrival, visit the awe‑inspiring temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari—colossal masterpieces carved directly into the mountainside during the 13th century BC. These temples are not only feats of ancient engineering but also of modern preservation, having been relocated in the 1960s to save them from the rising waters of Lake Nasser.

Return to the airport and fly back to Aswan, where you will be met and assisted before transferring to your hotel—the Mövenpick Aswan on Elephantine Island or the Sonesta Nouba. The afternoon is free to relax, enjoy a light lunch, or explore the vibrant Nubian culture that characterizes this region. Dinner will be at a local restaurant. Overnight in Aswan. (B/D)

Day 5 - Friday

Aswan

Felucca Sail & Philae Temple – Nile Cruise Embarkation

After breakfast, enjoy a peaceful morning sailing around the Nubian islands on a traditional felucca, gliding past granite boulders and palm‑fringed banks. Return to your hotel to check out before transferring to your 5‑star deluxe Nile cruise ship, the Mövenpick Royal Lotus or similar. After lunch on board, visit the enchanting Temple of Philae, dedicated to Isis, goddess of love, magic, and motherhood. The temple—once threatened by flooding—was carefully relocated to Agilkia Island, preserving its graceful colonnades and dramatic lakeside setting. Return to the ship for dinner and overnight in Aswan. (B/L/D)

Day 6 - Saturday

Aswan - Luxor

Aswan – Kom Ombo – Edfu – Sail to Luxor

Enjoy breakfast on board as you sail north along the Nile toward Kom Ombo. Visit the unique double temple dedicated to two deities: Sobek, the crocodile god of creation and fertility, and Haroeris (Horus the Elder), the falcon‑headed sky god. The temple’s symmetrical design and its adjacent Crocodile Museum offer fascinating insights into ancient Egyptian religion.

Return to the ship and continue sailing to Edfu, passing through the Esna locks. After lunch, explore the Temple of Edfu, one of the best‑preserved shrines in Egypt. Dedicated to Horus, the god of protection, its towering columns and intricate reliefs vividly depict ancient myths and ceremonial rites. Set sail for Luxor, enjoying dinner and the passing scenery along the way. Overnight on board. (B/L/D)

Day 7 - Sunday

Luxor

Karnak & Luxor Temples

Wake up to breakfast on board as the ship continues toward Luxor, arriving around lunchtime. After lunch, begin your exploration of Luxor’s East Bank with visits to two of Egypt’s most important temple complexes. Karnak Temple, dedicated primarily to Amun‑Ra, is a vast open‑air museum featuring massive hypostyle halls, sacred lakes, and colossal statues. Continue to Luxor Temple, an elegant riverside sanctuary adorned with sphinxes, towering obelisks, and beautifully preserved reliefs. Return to the ship for dinner and overnight. (B/L/D)

Day 8 - Monday

Luxor Cairo

West Bank of Luxor – Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple & Flight to Cairo

After breakfast, check out from the ship and head to the West Bank. Your day begins at the Valley of the Kings, where pharaohs of the New Kingdom were laid to rest in intricately decorated tombs. Your visit includes three tombs as well as the famed Tomb of Tutankhamun with its additional entry ticket. Continue to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el‑Bahari, a striking terraced complex built into the cliffs, celebrating Egypt’s most powerful female pharaoh. Pause for photos at the Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues that once guarded a grand mortuary temple.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before transferring to Luxor Airport for your flight back to Cairo. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel—the InterContinental City Stars or similar—just minutes from the airport. Overnight in Cairo. (B/L)

Day 9 - Tuesday
