Arrival
Welcome to Egypt! On arrival in Cairo we will be met and assisted by our airport representative. Board our air-conditioned bus and drive to the 5-star Kempinski Hotel. Check in and overnight in Cairo.
Cairo
After breakfast at the hotel, we start our full day tour to the Pyramids of Giza, including entrance into the greatest pyramid of King Cheops. After exploring the pyramids, we will visit the Sphinx. Lunch will be at a local restaurant then we will visit the Khan El Khalili market. Afterwards we return to our hotel and the rest of the day is free at your leisure. Overnight in Cairo. (B/L)
Cairo
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel then we start our full day visit to the new Grand Egyptian Museum (if it's opened). Next, we will visit the Citadel of Salah Eldeen and the mosque of Mohammed Ali. Next we visit old Coptic Cairo and the Hanging Church of Saint Sergius. Lunch will be at one of the best restaurants in Cairo - either Felfela or Abo Elsseed. After lunch we will return back to our hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure and overnight in Cairo. (B/L)
Cairo - Abu Simbel - Aswan
After an early breakfast at the hotel we will check out and drive to the Cairo airport to catch our flight to Abu Simbel (2 hour flight). On arrival in Abu Simbel we will visit the unique and magnificent temples of King Ramses II and Queen Nefertari. Return to airport and fly to Aswan. On arrival in Aswan we will transfer to our hotel (Movenpick Aswan or Helnan Aswan), check in and enjoy some free time before we meet again later in the afternoon. At 3pm we will enjoy a felucca (sail boat) ride on the Nile followed by a carriage ride thru the town. If time permits, we will visit a perfume shop. We return to the hotel and get ready for dinner at a local restaurant in Aswan. Return to the hotel and overnight in Aswan. (B/D)
Aswan
Breakfast at the hotel then check out. Our first visit of the day is the Aswan High Dam followed by a visit to the Temple of Philae, dedicated to goddess of love, Isis. Afterwards we drive to our 5-star deluxe cruise ship to check in and get settled on board. After lunch on board we will enjoy a felucca ride on the Nile then rest of the day free at leisure. Dinner on board and overnight in Aswan. (B/L/D)
Kom Ombo - Edfu - Luxor
After Breakfast, we visit Kom Ombo, the temple dedicated to the god Sobek the crocodile headed God. Return to the ship to on to Edfu. Lunch on board and relax until the ship arrives in Edfu where we will visit the temple dedicated to the god Horus, god of protection. The temple is the most well preserved amongst all temples we will see. Return to the ship and we sail to Esna to get through the locks and move from the high-water level to the lower level and continue sailing to Luxor. Dinner on board and overnight. (B/L/D)
Luxor
Breakfast on board the ship then we visit the Valley of the Kings where we will be able to enter 3 of the tombs to see the hieroglyph-covered walls and chambers where they were laid to rest. Next we will visit the temple of Queen Hatshepsut, who actually took the title of pharaoh and is one of Egypt’s most famous and powerful female rulers. We finish our tour of the West Bank of the Nile at the Colossi of Memnon, the remains of two giant statues of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III, which stand at the front of the ruins of the Mortuary Temple of Amenhotep III. We then return to the ship for lunch, and a free afternoon. Dinner on board and overnight in Luxor. (B/L/D).
Luxor
We will have our last breakfast on board the ship, then check out and go to visit the Temple of Karnak, actually a complex of temples built over 2,000 years by various rulers, where you will see the great Hypostyle Hall. There are four main parts to the complex attributed to Amun Ra, Mut, Montu, and Amenhotep VI. We will also visit the Temple of Luxor, located at the other end of the Avenue of Sphinxes and dedicated to the Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Afterwards we will check in to the Steigenberger Resort hotel or Sonesta Saint George hotel (Nile view room guaranteed), and enjoy some free time. Before sunset we will take a carriage ride to the old part of the city and to the local market. Dinner at a local restaurant then back to hotel and overnight in Luxor. (B/D)
Luxor - Hurghada
After breakfast we check out and board our air-conditioned bus for our drive from Luxor to the Red Sea resort of Hurghada (3.5 hours driving time). Once we arrive in Hurghada we will check in to our 5-star hotel (Marriott or similar, based on all Inclusive basis). Relax and enjoy the beach and water activities at the resort. (B/L/D)
Hurghada - Cairo
After breakfast at the hotel we check out and transfer to the airport for our flight to Cairo. Arrive in Cairo and visit the old Egyptian museum, then check in to your hotel - Le Meridian or similar. Overnight in Cairo. (B)
Departure
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and fly back home.
