Next year, the European Union will implement a traveler screening and tracking system similar to what is used in the US, Canada and Australia to track visitors from visa-free countries. The new system requires visitors to apply in advance of their arrival in the EU and pay a fee of 7 euros (and in today’s exchange rates with the US dollar it is about $7). The good news is that in exchange for the inconvenience of having to apply and pay before arrival, the approval you receive is good for three years of unlimited travel to Europe.
